Your
Chapbook
AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUBLISH A COLLECTION OF YOUR WORK.
DEADLINE: March 1, 2022 - April 18, 2022 at 11:59 PM EDT
What is a Chapbook?
A chapbook is typically a collection of poetry that is 48 pages or less. We’ve decided to redefine what a chapbook means at The Soap Box Press. We are now accepting a collection of absolutely anything. Send us your best work, no matter the medium. We’re happy to accept collections of short stories, poetry, art, photography, comics or anything else you can think of. The only catch is that the manuscript must be 30 pages or less and must be previously unpublished.
What's in it for you?
Your manuscript will be published as an ebook and in print.
A copy of the ebook and three copies of the print book.
Advertisement, distribution, and promotion through The Soap Box website and social media profiles.
Royalties. We love our writers and believe you should be compensated for your work.
What can I submit?
A manuscript of unpublished poetry. That means it can not have appeared in any other print or digital publication. (Personal blogs and social media profiles are fine.)
30 pages or less, one poem per page.
12pt Times New Roman or Calibri font.
If your submission fails to meet these guidelines, it will be automatically eliminated.
Who can submit?
Any and all writers living in Canada. Multiple authors are also welcome, as long as the poems/short stories have not been previously published.
How to submit?
Click the submit button below!
Every poem should be single spaced and use a 12 pt Times New Roman or Calibri font. Please make sure your submission file is both .doc and .pdf
When will I know if my submission has been selected for publication?
You will receive an email regarding the status of your manuscript - whether it has or hasn’t been accepted - approximately 1-2 months after the call for submissions has closed.
We receive a high volume of submissions and take great care to give each manuscript careful consideration. We ask that you be patient with us and know that you will hear back as soon as we’ve had a chance to go through all of the submissions we’ve received.
