Q: What do you publish?
A: We publish poetry chapbooks, creative writing anthologies, and full length works - including poetry collections, short story collections, and novels.
Q: Where can I submit?
A: As our calls for submissions open, use the appropriate form on our website to submit.
Q: Can I submit work that has already been published?
A: No, at this time we are only accepting unpublished work - meaning work that hasn’t been released in print or online by another publisher. Work that has been published on personal social media accounts or a personal blog is still eligible.
Q: What is a chapbook?
A: A chapbook is a collection of poetry that is 48 pages or less. In 2020, we’re changing things up a bit and expanding what a chapbook means to us. Rather than just focusing on poetry, we’ll take a collection of your best work, whether it be poetry, short fiction, personal essays, art, comics, photography or anything else you can imagine. All we ask is that your manuscript is no longer than 30 pages.
Q: Are there themes for chapbook submissions?
A: No. Although we don't provide a theme for you, we do recommend that your manuscript has one.
Q: How long can my submissions be?
A: For chapbooks, no longer than 30 pages, one poem per page. For full length submissions, no longer than 300 pages.
Q: Is there compensation for submitting written work?
A: The authors of chapbooks and full length works will receive royalties. All contributors to our anthologies will receive a free contributor’s copy and an honorarium. Authors of chapbooks and full length works will also receive a complimentary PDF (ebook) and three print copies.
Q: How will I know if my work has been selected for publication?
A: You will be notified through email.
Q: Will all submissions be published?
A: Unfortunately, due to the high volume of work sent in, not all submissions will be published. However, there will be more open calls to come, so keep sending us your writing!
Q: Where can I buy books published by The Soap Box Press?

Q: How can I be featured on The Soap Box website?
